The Mr Fix it service we are promoting is the difference between that of casual advice and a 'hands on' service that takes the 'doing' away from you and puts it into the hands of someone with all of the necessary expertise to allow a stranger buying in a foreign land to feel secure & confident.

"Our Man in Brittany" Offers local knowledge aplenty (totally bi-lingual - including any swear words!) has many years experience of French property sales and purchase (as a fully registered commercial agent). He will ensure that you are carefully guided and advised at every step of the way...

• Negotiation assistance and the making of the offer on your property - visiting the house to ensure that everything is as it should be (the arrangement for a structural survey if it is required either by yourselves and/or by an appropriate body ie:- mortgage lender) etc.,

• Compromis de Vente- Explanation & formulation of your specific requirements at the Compromis stage - All about Inheritance tax issues, planning requirements. etc.,

• Understanding the reports- Assistance in understanding the mandatory reports on asbestos, lead, woodworm and insulation etc., (here there is a similarity to the recent UK HIP's reports).

• Your planning application - Advice here about what is possible to do with a simple autorisation de travaux or the more complex permis de construire. ie:- The degree of your proposed work on the property and which level of application and authorisation is required from the Mairie...

• Banking - Opening of a French Bank Account

• Liaison during Paperwork process - Monitoring and liaison contact between you and the Notaire & the Vendor etc as required on any matters arising during the purchase process.

• Help at the Signing - Assistance with and Translation of what is documented and the witnessing of your signing of documentation during the Acte Finale.

• Dealings with service providers eg:- Property Insurance, Electricity, Gas (as applicable), Water, Telephone, Computer Connections, Television/Satellite, Fosse Septique installation etc.,
