Gouarec is where the River Blavet and the Nantes Brest Canal meet and it is the village where the Pays de Conomor, the magical son et lumiere is based, re-enacting each August, high points from Breton history with 400 actors, 50 horses, a pack of hounds...in the grounds of the Abbey of Bon Repos...It's brilliant! They even make it snow in August!! It is the most amazing spectacle. In fact the whole area is attractive to tourists for walking, riding, canoeing and sailing (there's also a beach at the 12 kilometre Lake Guerledan) and the coast is just 30 minutes north.
