We always think it's a good idea to know who you are dealing with...don't you?

We’re a small business – In order to be any smaller one of us needs surgery! Seriously though…Often, when arriving at the home page of a website it is not obvious who you are dealing with…Why all the mystery? Well, we are Micki & Chris Slade… We bought a house in Brittany in 1999 and, naturally we fell in love with the place – it is magical. A year or so after signing on the dotted line we launched our business: www.ahouseinbrittany.com in order to help folks with similar ambitions to straighten out the hairpin bends of buying in such a beautiful part of the world and at prices which are still quite barmy by comparison to many areas of the UK, even though things have changed quite markedly over the years.

A couple of years after we began offering a property finding service for Brittany (2004) and doing pretty well, a colleague of one of our Brittany agents, who ran offices in Normandy, asked how he was able to gain so many prospective buyers through his office door with increased foot-fall… 

Turns. out it was us! – So we added www.ahouseinnormandy.com and that worked just fine too. But…dare I mention Brexit?… That – and to some extent the pandemic has changed the dynamic. It has resulted in a good few agents ‘pulling their horns in’ and we have found ourselves with fewer agents on the ground… But we’re at it again The market is looking better and we’re looking to work with new and smaller independents who may need to increase the foot-fall to their offices and their portfolio… Do please keep coming back for a shufty at our site as it grows again – and also…Give us a ‘Like’ and see a property every day.
